Brannan Island State Recreation Area sits on the California Delta near Rio Vista, California. The 336-acre state park is part of the California State Parks system and offers a large campground area with 140 spaces and a range of facilities for fishers, hikers and boaters. The park is surrounded on three sides by water – specifically, the Sacramento River, Three-Mile Slough and Seven-Mile Slough.
How to Reach Brannan Island State Recreation Area in Sacramento County, California
Brannan Island SRA is on California state Highway 160. From Stockton, the driver takes State Highway 12 and then turns onto State Highway 160. After several miles, a clearly-signposted left turn brings the traveler across a small bridge to the entrance station and visitor center.
From here, the first right leads to the dump station and group camp; the second right is the Cottonwood and Willow loop; and to reach the boat ramp, walk-in and RV loops (Olympic loop) the driver continues straight.
